Right after Nina Davuluri won the Miss America pageant, Elle Magazine did a write-up on Bollywood dance and its increasing use for fitness/workout. We are absolutely thrilled to be part of this article!

“[Bollywood] gets inspiration from all around the world,” Ajanta Chakraborty, the founder of Bollywood Groove in Chicago, told me. “India is a huge country with massive cultural diversity. Anything and everything that the population wants gets assimilated into Bollywood.”
Bollywood dance features a lot of high–energy movement, which means it also torches calories and has been marketed as a workout. Chakraborty offers 30 Bollywood–inspired fitness classes per week at her studio and says that on some days she gets up to 50 students in a class. She has even begun offering training courses and certifications to potential Bollywood fitness instructors around the country.

Our daughter Eliana has been attending classes with Bollywood Groove and Miss Ajanta for a couple of years and she loves it! It is a wonderful blend of fun, dancing, and learning about India.
