About the shelter project
Funds raised from this event will support Apna Ghar’s new purpose built, highly efficient and functional safe home/emergency shelter, which is currently under construction. This new safe home will double the agency’s capacity to provide survivors of abuse, violence and trauma a home-like environment where they can gain safety, stability and self-sufficiency. Care is taken to maintain a culturally sensitive and healing space. The new safe home will be designed to promote healing, with private spaces for mental and medical health care, counseling, advocacy, and case management as well as communal space for therapeutic and other group activities. This new facility is also ADA compliant.
About Apna Ghar, Inc. (Our Home)
Apna Ghar provides holistic services and conducts advocacy across immigrant communities to end gender violence and help healing and empowerment for survivors. Funds raised from this event will support Apna Ghar’s new functional safe home/emergency shelter designed to provide survivors of abuse, violence and trauma a home-like environment where they can gain safety, stability and self-sufficiency.
